Carisbrook is open today. ‘Open Weekend’ offering a relaxing, heritage escape from the modern weekend- rush. 10 am to 4 pm
Along with a tour of the house, visitors can relax in the garden and indulge in a Devonshire tea, or have coffee and a range of Victorian-style cakes in our sunny courtyard. Each month we also hope to focus on a different aspect of the 19th century.
Why not come for a visit and say hello to one of our friendly volunteer guides? Carisbrook is a middle-class Victorian house lovingly maintained by the Lane Cove Historical Society, each room furnished just how it would have been in the days of Queen Victoria. Take yourself back to a time when there was no electricity or running water and Burns Bay Road was a dirt track. After your visit you can stroll through the magnificent gardens that empty down to Burns Bay - perhaps bring a picnic and make a day of it!
